Justin Bieber performed with Ariana Grande in a surprise Coachella appearance, and the crowd lost its mind
We didn’t expect it. He didn’t expect it. Justin Bieber joined Ariana Grande on stage at Coachella last night, April 21st, and it seemed like everyone but Grande was totally taken by surprise.
“I haven’t been on stage in like, two years,” Bieber said when he appeared. “I came out here, I had no idea I’d be on this stage tonight. Absolutely no idea.” Grande added, “True story.”
The last time Bieber performed in front of an audience of this size was back in July 2017 during his Purpose tour. After touring for a year, Bieber ended up cancelling his remaining shows in order to rest and focus on his mental health. He took to Instagram at the time to explain that he could not be there emotionally for the last leg of his tour, and he wanted to make sure that his career and heart remained “sustainable.”

Um—did Bieber really just tease a new album? It’s all too much.
