Justin Bieber really "needed" this engagement to Hailey Baldwin, a source told Us Weekly, saying the singer, who became internationally famous at the ripe old age of, like, 14, was craving a sense of normalcy in his life.

“He has been a kid sensation for as long as he can remember,” the source said. “You become muted to that fame. He finally feels somewhat normal and it’s a right time for him to settle down with one person.”

After popping the question in the Bahamas this weekend with a ring that reportedly cost half a million dollars (um, EXCUSE ME?), Justin confirmed his engagement to Hailey in an Instagram on Monday night.

In the very lengthy caption, he wrote about how things felt different with Hailey than they had with anyone else.

"You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anybody else. You make me so much better and we compliment eachother so well!!" he wrote. "It’s funny because now with you everything seems to make sense!"

That last sentence feels like a subtle jab at Justin's ex Selena Gomez, who he dated as recently as a few months ago, but it's okay because she reportedly doesn't care about any of this.

Hailey and Justin are already planning the wedding, and they reportedly want to keep it small.

“As of now, they want a small ceremony with their families,” a source told People. “They are not planning a huge, celebrity wedding. They are getting married for love and don’t want a flashy wedding.”
