In honor of the occasion, fans and fellow celebrities shared their best wishes in a video for BAZAAR.com. In the series of sweet clips, older figures impart their wisdom on what it means to embark on your 40s, and fellow musicians share their own rendition of some of Beyoncé's most famous songs.
Others personally thanked Beyoncé for inspiring them to take on the entertainment world. “You’ve given me and so many others permission to be free to embrace all that we are," says Laverne Cox. "You’ve given us a blueprint for excellence: that when we think you can’t surpass yourself, you do." Kerry Washington adds, "You are such a gift to this world. Thank you for being an inspiration to me, to my kids, to brown skin girls all over the world, to non-brown skin girls all over the world."
