Just in Time for the Holidays: Maisonette x Vogue Have Launched a Onesie Collaboration

Anyone who has a baby knows that the onesie is like the little black dress of the infant fashion world—it’s timeless, season-less, and you inevitably find yourself turning to it again and again. Sourcing ones that are chicer (and cheekier) than the standard issue isn’t always easy, though. Lucky for us, kids’ e-tailer Maisonette has collaborated with Vogue to create a cute collection that just went live in the new Vogue Shop and is unlike anything else out there. “With gifting, it’s all about finding that unique and special thing—a twist on a classic that makes it feel new and fresh,” Maisonette’s co-founder Sylvana Ward Durrett says. “We thought, why not take a staple, a cotton onesie, but make it 100% organic and super soft, and splash a funny fashion phrase on the front of it.” That’s where the conversation began, and the Maisonette team loved being tasked with coming up with all of the slogans. "We tapped into industry-insider sayings for the collection, and of course pop culture references,” Durrett adds. "My favorite is the slogan that reads: ‘Cry, but make it fashion.’ It’s the juxtaposition of the glamour of Vogue with the unglamorous nature of new motherhood. It brings some levity to that universally shared experience of being a parent—sleepless nights and lots of crying . . . theirs, and yours!”
