This Just In: More Juicy Details on ‘The Handmaid's Tale’ Season 2 Were Released
As anticipation for The Handmaid’s Tale season two mounts, we’re hungry for more details. Thankfully, HMT showrunner Bruce Miller just served up a few juicy ones.
Miller sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and revealed that he pictures the show going far, far beyond a sophomore season. “I roughed it out to about ten seasons when I was first working on it. I see a world beyond [the current one]. I would watch an episode about the Nuremberg trials after Gilead falls,” Miller explained.
And while season two is said to expand past Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name, Miller says, “We’re not going beyond the novel; we’re just covering territory she covered quickly, a bit more slowly.” Like CliffsNotes, but in reverse.
The Emmy Award–winning showrunner also teased that this season will draw real-life parallels between the Me Too and Time’s Up movements and Gilead. We can also expect to see pregnant Offred on the run and Marisa Tomei in a guest-starring role when the first two episodes of season two drop on April 25.
