Junior MTB World Champion Emmy Lan Wins BC Athlete Of The Year Award

The province of British Columbia has a large population and is very athletic. The province boasts 48 active NHL players.

Even in this athletic mileu, mountain bikers stand out. On March 7th, 2024, enduro star Emmy Lan won BC Junior Female Athlete of the Year.

Emmy Lan is an accomplished enduro rider from the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island in BC. She races for the Forbidden Synthesis team.

In 2023, Lan won her second straight under-21 Enduro World Cup overall, winning five rounds. With dominance on the world stage like that, it is no surprise that she won the award.

It says a lot for the sport of mountain biking that Lan was considered for this award. The fact that a provincial body recognizes a bike racer for this award shows how our sport is no longer the niche enclave it once was.

We at BIKE are stoked to see what Lan can do in the 2024 season.
