Julia Roberts Now Has Rose Gold Hair, and We're Obsessed
A few celebrities come to mind when we think about experimental hair color. There's Cardi B and her rainbow of wigs, Kylie Jenner and... same, and Bella Thorne's penchant for hair glitter. But when it comes to out-there color, Julia Roberts isn't really a name that comes to mind. At least until now, as the actress just debuted rose gold hair on Instagram.
You read that right: Julia Roberts has embraced millennial pink.
Both Roberts and hairstylist Serge Normant posted videos for "faux boom Friday," our new favorite game in which Roberts fakes a Boomerang-style hair flip. But the most shocking part isn't Roberts's acting (for once, she breaks character and starts laughing mid-flip). It's her fishtail braid, which has been lightly tinged a trendy pink shade. The color has an ombré effect, starting blonde at her roots and slowly getting more pink throughout her layered hair. It's light enough for the blonde base to show through, but there's also no mistaking the pink hue. Speaking as someone who went Avril Lavigne-style purple last year, everyone has to have a unicorn moment at least once in their lives. Julia Roberts, welcome to the club and don't forget to collect your Olaplex.
Last we checked, Roberts was rocking a more conventional head of cool blonde highlights. But the new color — which may or may not be permanent — is seriously working for her and her perfectly-matching blazer. It's worth noting that the new shade may just be a sneaky way to draw eyes to Roberts's Instagram, where she is reminding fans that her new show Homecoming premieres November 2 on Amazon.
But we're here to take the bait. Especially if her character is as down to experiment with color as Roberts is.
