Julia Louis-Dreyfus plays a grieving mother in A24’s latest fantasy drama, Tuesday. Louis-Dreyfus plays Zora, a mother caring for her terminally ill daughter by the name of Tuesday (Lola Petticrew). One day, the two are visited by Death, who takes the surprising form of a parrot.

The trailer opens with Tuesday explaining to Zora how Tinder works. Shortly after, Tuesday is sitting in the backyard when she’s confronted by the bird, a creature magically capable to shrinking and growing in size. Death warns Zora that it’s now time to “say goodbye to [her] daughter.”

As Tuesday embarks on her own journey, Zora must learn to accept the loss of her daughter and take the first steps toward living without her.

Daina O. Pusić wrote and directed Tuesday as her directorial debut. Ivana MacKinnon, Helen Gladders and Oliver Roskill are all co-producing alongside A24. Arinzé Kene, meanwhile, voices Death.
