Julia Louis-Dreyfus: Actor and Producer

Julia Louis-Dreyfus was hired out of college to act on Saturday Night Live. In 1990, she moved on to Seinfeld, playing Elaine, the show’s only female lead. Seinfeld debuted in 1990 and ran for nine years, giving Louis-Dreyfus her first Emmy for best supporting comedic actress. Louis-Dreyfus won her second Emmy in 2006 for her role as Christine in The New Adventures of Old Christine, a show about a divorcée’s ups and downs in dating and parenting. In 2012, she took on the role of Vice President as Selina Meyers in Veep. In addition to starring in Veep, Louis-Dreyfus also produces the HBO show. Veep earned Louis-Dreyfus her third and fourth Emmy wins, and in 2013 she became the most-nominated comedic actress in Emmy history, surpassing Lucille Ball. She was honored with the Kennedy Center Mark Twain Award for American Humor in 2018.
