Julia Fox Just Stepped Out in Her Most Eccentric Look Yet

Julia Fox took the fashion world by storm yet again during her most recent public outing at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival.

On May 22, the 33-year-old actress was spotted on the red carpet premiere of the controversial new HBO drama The Idolstarring Lily-Rose Depp and Abel Tesfaye (A.K.A pop megastar The Weeknd)–and again at the afterparty, sporting two truly unique outfits that showed off her ability to make almost anything look high fashion.

Fox was first photographed wearing a sheer asymmetrical one-shoulder gown designed by Nicolas Jebran that featured a corset-style base layer, a long hooded cape, white gloves, and chunky silver abstract earrings.

Keeping her hair simple, she styled her long dark locks in a sleek, straight 'do and went really bold with a goth-inspired face of makeup that included a navy blue glossy lipstick and a blended-out white foundation.

Fans seemed to appreciate the uniqueness of her style, with one tweeting that she looked "gorgeous" and "better than the cast" and another sharing that this was further proof of Fox being "consistently so cool."

Others, however, have likened her look Twin Peaks' Laura Palmer after she...you know.

Her second look also drew criticism, apparently reminding some of a disposable rain poncho or an outfit from Lady Gaga's Artpop era.

While the completely see-through plastic ensemble was a bit more artistic–incorporating an oversized poncho with some fluffy feathered pom poms, a matching set of shorts and a cap–than the throwaway weather barriers theme parkgoers pack to power through inclement weather, it did bare some similarities.

Recycling her hair and glam from the first 'fit, the Monday night afterparty look also marked a clear pattern for the star, as it was her third time rocking a transparent barely-there outfit on a red carpet.

Just a day prior, Fox was photographed wearing a glass-like corset from designer Cameron Hancock while attending the Art of Elysium 25th anniversary party on Sunday, May 21–an outfit that also earned her online praise.
