Julia Fox Calls Her Romance with Kanye West a "Redemption Story"

Julia Fox is keeping us up to date on her relationship with Kanye West.
The Uncut Gems actor spoke with Interview magazine for a second diary-esque piece detailing her dates with the Ye rapper. The piece, a conversation called "Fox News," also included an announcement that the post-date debriefs would become a regular feature, complete with photos from the couple's nights out.
Fox first recalled her night out with West at Los Angeles' Delilah's, which she said was a date with Madonna and that she brought the rapper along. She also revealed that her custom look, a black leather crop top and matching low-rise pants, were designed by her stylists Peri Rosenzweig and Briana Andalore with West’s direction.
She then recounted their date Thursday night, where she, West, and a group of celebs including Naomi Campbell and Dave Chappelle watched Zola in an LA warehouse. The couple had watched the indie film together some time before their Slave Play date, per Fox. After the warehouse, she accompanied the rapper to his music video shoot with Pusha T.
When asked how their relationship has evolved, Fox said that the rapper has impressed her. "You know, I’m so used to being fucked over in relationships, so I keep waiting for him to disappoint me, because he makes very grandiose promises, and it’s like, 'How could he ever pull it off with all the other things he has going on?'" she said. "But he always does. Last night was a testament to that."
The No Sudden Move actor also cited her "transformation" since meeting West, revealing that she packed up all of her clothes a couple of days after meeting him, calling the experience "cathartic." She had previously revealed that the rapper had surprised her with a hotel room full of clothes after their second date.
"It wasn’t like I was just packing up my old clothes, it was like I was packing up my old life. I was like making that very conscious decision to really put everything in the box. To let go of the past."
"I’m really surrendering," Fox added. "For someone like me who’s such a control freak and always so used to taking care of myself, to just let go and be taken care of is foreign at this point in life. I’ve been the primary caretaker of everyone for so long, so it’s a new sensation, but honestly, I think I deserve it."
"Even a month ago, I was so fucking like… not getting along with my son’s father, or not having help. It was just me alone. I was so tired and everything was work. I just remember being like, 'I know that there’s going to be a reward for this, like this is so fucking miserable that I know that I know something good will come of this if I just hang in there.' And then a few days later there I am with Ye, and it was the most instant natural organic attraction and connection. I just feel really safe with him. It’s a redemption story," she said.
