The third Deadpool movie is going to have a lot of surprise cameos, but Juggernaut won’t be one of them. Vinnie Jones, who played the unstoppable mutant Juggernaut in X-Men: The Last Stand, has said that he was approached about appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine, but turned the offer down.

Speaking to Yahoo UK, Jones said that he declined the offer due to the physical and mental toll of putting on the suit. This is in contrast to his recent comments regarding reprising the role.

“Funnily enough, I just got asked to do Deadpool, the new one now, and I spoke to the director and I just said it’s such a drama putting that suit on mentally and physically,” said Jones. “I mean, it had its mental toll as well, because you’re in it and you can’t do anything all day, you can only drink through a straw. So we couldn’t strike the deal for Deadpool. But Deadpool's my favorite movie of all f***ing time more or less. I really wanted to do it, but they didn't have the budget to put me in the suit."

Jones went on to talk about the troubled production of X-Men: The Last Stand, which had multiple directors getting attached and leaving the project, with the final version helmed by Brett Ratner. Jones said that the second version of the film, which had Matthew Vaugn attached as director, included an expanded role for Juggernaut.

“The new director [Ratner] came on and it was not the same role as I signed on to do,” he said. “They diluted the dialogue, it was a bigger role.”

Jones’ comments are understandable, as he joins a growing roster of actors who have spoken against studio-driven Marvel films, including Dakota Johnson and Robert Downey Jr.

While Jones won’t portray Juggernaut in Deadpool 3, the character could still appear in the film. The character had a scene-stealing cameo in Deadpool 2 where he ripped Wade Wilson in half. For that movie, Juggernaut was played by Ryan Reynolds himself, with the character being digitally created for the movie. We may see that iteration appear in the third film once again.
