Joshua Bassett is opening up about his sexuality again about a month after a video of him coming out went viral. In a recent interview with GQ, Joshua clarifies that, while some people weren't sure if he was serious about his previous announcement, he was.

"I wasn't joking," Joshua said. According to the GQ article, the actor is still figuring out how to articulate his sexuality. "There are plenty of letters in the alphabet...Why bother rushing to a conclusion?" he said. "Sometimes your letter changes, sometimes you try a different one, other times you realize you’re not what you thought you were, or maybe you always knew. All of these can be true. I’m happy to be a part of the LGBTQ+ community because they embrace all. Don’t let anyone tell you love isn’t love. They’re the ones who probably need it the most."

In the video, posted last month by Clever News, Joshua talked about his admiration for Harry Styles. "What I admire about Harry Styles is that he is a very classy man, and he’s also very well rounded and he kind of does it all, acting, singing, fashion," he said. "I think that he’s just a nice guy who doesn’t say too much but when he talks, it matters."

Joshua continued, saying, "He’s just cool, he’s cool. Who doesn’t think Harry Styles is cool?" Joshua continued. "Also he’s hot, you know? He’s very charming too. Lots of things." Joshua then says, "I guess this is also my coming out video."

Following the release of the video, many were unsure if the actor was being serious. Joshua then made a statement on Instagram, sharing a video of him singing an original song with the caption, "My entire life people have told me my sexuality. People have shamed me for things they know nothing about. I want to say thank you to those of you who stand for love and acceptance."

He continued, "It’s 2021. We are the generation of love & growth, it’s time we start acting like it. whether you love me, hate me, or damn me to hell, i love you all the same." He ended his statement, saying, "it’s ok to still be figuring out who you are. life’s too short to let ignorance and hatred win. I choose love.❤️🧡💛💚💙💜"
