Joshua Bassett new song "Lie, Lie, Lie" is finally about to come out. But before you think it's about a certain rumored ex-girlfriend and new relationship, he's setting the record straight.

Shortly after announcing the upcoming single, Joshua took to Instagram to reveal the meaning behind the track.

"I wrote 'Lie, Lie, Lie' after I found out a friend had been lying about me behind my back for a long time. It always sucks to hear that someone you thought you could trust would throw you under the bus when it benefits them. It happens to all of us, and I think all you can do is seek out people that build you up rather than tear you down," he wrote on his stories.

After hearing the title of the track, many believed to be a response to Olivia Rodrigo's "Drivers License", which many suspect to be about their former relationship and his brand new possible spark with Sabrina Carpenter.

Fans have been quick to defend Joshua, especially after the release of "Drivers License" and also pointed out that he had originally released a snippet of the song back in December 2019.

Another fan also noted that he played it when he filmed High School Musical: The Musical: The Series back in July 2019.

It's pretty safe to say that the song won't be addressing the drama that we're all interested about, but we still can't wait to finally hear the full track!
