Is Josh Jacobs in for a fantasy slump in 2020?

Yahoo Fantasy expert Matt Harmon weighs in on the Raiders' second-year running back and his current ADP in Yahoo leagues

Video Transcript

MATT HARMON: I don't think is a hot take to say that as a rookie Josh Jacobs was already one of the best pure runners in the National Football League. Just in his first NFL season he ranked top 5 in yards after contact per attempt and top 8 overall in broken tackles among backs to carry the ball 150 times or more last year. So obviously very skilled runner, firmly entrenched as the guy on his team. However, there are certainly passing game question marks.

Last year, Jacobs only averaged just over two targets per game. He actually ran fewer routes than scat back Jalen Richard, who was retained on a two-year $7 million contract. So he's going to figure into the equation once again this year, and that is definitely a shave off some of the top of Jacob 's ceiling. But I do think he's a good enough early down runner and should, honestly, get a few more passing game reps this year that I think his price right now in fantasy does take some of that risk but also some of the reward into account.
