Josh Duhamel Shares Rare Insight Into Split From Ex-Wife Fergie

Josh Duhamel is offering a candid glimpse into his relationship with ex-wife Fergie, and how their starlit romance came to an unfortunate but amicable end.
During an interview with Graham Bensinger, uploaded to YouTube on Oct. 4, the Safe Haven star opened up about his separation from the "Fergalicious" singer, and what it's like co-parenting with her today.
The two, who split in 2017, share 10-year-old Axl. Today, they have "a great relationship" and work together "to raise him without any acrimony." While it may be difficult to look back on the end of their romance, Duhamel said, "I've made peace with that part of my life."
Ultimately, the couple were too different to work, which he believes they'd both agree to. "There wasn't anything wrong with it," he added. "We actually had a great time, but I think we just kind of outgrew each other and had very different interests."
Living life in the spotlight was also hard for the actor, who never grew to feel comfortable in it. "It was just a lot. I missed the simplicity of who I really am," he continued. "I'm just not a guy who is comfortable doing red carpets, doing all the Hollywood stuff. I don't hate it—I'm better at it now—but it just took me a long time to really feel like I belong, like I fit in. You know Hollywood and LA, that whole lifestyle can suck the life out of you if you're not careful."
But he holds no resentment for their spotlit life together, even considering himself "very lucky that she's a kind human."
These days, Duhamel is married to Audra Mari, and the two are expecting their first child together. He recently told Parade that he's "beyond excited" for the new addition.
