The 78-year-old will be taking the stage once again in June 2023.

Brace yourselves, Joni Mitchell fans, because the music legend is making a comeback to the stage!

Mitchell, 78, will play her first headline show in 23 years, her longtime friend and fellow musician Brandi Carlile announced earlier this week.

Carlile, 41, spilled the exciting news while appearing on The Daily Show late on Wednesday, Oct. 19, telling host Trevor Noah that Mitchell will be performing at the Gorge Amphitheatre in Washington next June.

"I can't believe it's happening, but it's happening," Carlile confirmed, according to the New York Post. "And she is going to crush it."

The announcement comes just months after Carlile brought Mitchell on stage for a surprise performance at the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island over the summer, which apparently left the "Cactus Tree" singer itching to get back in front of a crowd.

"After Newport, Joni said, 'I want to do another show.' She said, 'I want to play again," Carlile recalled to the publication. "She completely took over the show and became the performer that we all know that she is. We didn't go to sleep that night. We stayed up until the sun came up. Joni, flat out, loves to perform and she's awesome at it."

"No one's been able to buy a ticket to see Joni Mitchell play in 20 years. So this is enormous, and she's so excited because it's close to Canada," Carlile added.

Mitchell—a Canada native—has been staying under the radar in recent years following a brain aneurysm in 2015 that temporarily impaired her ability to walk or talk.

Now, the "A Case of You" songstress is ready to get back out there, and will perform on June 10, 2023, with Carlile opening for her. Carlile will also play the amphitheatre the day before.

Tickets for Carlile and Mitchell's shows will go on sale to the public next Friday, Oct. 28 at 10 am PT on BrandiCarlile.com
