Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel Pose for an Adorable Photo and Fans Can’t Get Enough of Her Bonnet

HGTV's Jonathan Scott and Zooey Deschanel took advantage of the warm and sunny weather this weekend — but not without proper the proper headgear. Scott posted an adorable selfie of the couple from their nature-filled outing on his Instagram on Sunday.

"What a perfect day with my perfect person," Scott wrote in the caption, accompanying a black-and-white photo of him and Deschanel cozied up. However, this heartwarming moment between the couple, who have been dating for over a year and a half, was quickly overshadowed by... Deschanel's hat? The New Girl alum donned a rather large straw bonnet with a bow that tied around her chin while Scott rocked an average-sized cap. Fans were quick to point out how much space Deschanel's headpiece took up.

Actor Tyler Labine was one of the first users to make a note: "The way your face meets with her hat makes you look super imposed. I mean, you are super imposing, but never super imposed," he wrote to Scott. The Property Brothers star quipped back: "haha. Don’t give away my photoshop secrets."

But of course, Deschanel swooped in to set the record straight and defend her precious hat. "Haha. Controversy! I am very amused by this conclusion that you would take the time to photoshop a picture from our hike and not that I was unironically wearing a ridiculously oversized Easter bonnet so big you could barely fit in the picture," she wrote in response to Scott, implying that yes, her hat is that big and sometimes it will impose upon her boyfriend.

Well, we sure do love a couple that can joke around as well as find ways to make the big things (re: hats) work in their relationship. As Scott included in the hashtags "#SunnySkiesAhead," and it's unclear whether he's talking about the weather or his relationship with Deschanel but both seem promising.
