The Marvel actor was arrested for assault on March 25.

After Jonathan Majors was arrested for allegedly assaulting, strangling, and harassing a woman in a domestic situation, his lawyer claims he is innocent of all charges.

The Creed III and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actor's criminal defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, said in a statement to E! News, "Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and is probably the victim of an altercation with a woman he knows. We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently."

Chaudhry went on to say that they have evidence proving his innocence, including two written statements from the alleged victim recanting the accusations, video from the car in which the alleged abuse took place, as well as a witness statement from the driver.

"All the evidence proves that Mr. Majors is entirely innocent and did not assault her whatsoever," continued Chaudhry. "Unfortunately, this incident came about because this woman was having an emotional crisis, for which she was taken to a hospital yesterday."

The statement further said, "The NYPD is required to make an arrest in these situations, and this is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We expect these charges to be dropped soon."

In addition to playing Damian Anderson in the new film Creed III and Kang the Conquerer in Marvel's Ant-Man, Majors' career has included roles such as Atticus Freeman in the series Lovecraft Country, which earned him an Emmy nomination in 2021 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series, and Montgomery Allen in the 2019 film The Last Black Man in San Francisco.

Neither Disney nor Marvel has commented on the arrest of the Loki and Ant-Man actor.
