Jonah Hill Hints that His Next Project Is in the Fashion World

At the Man of the Year's GQ LIVE talk last night, Hill talked about Mid90s and Lady Gaga, and let us know he's not done getting a fit off.

At the kickoff of the first-ever GQ LIVE at Los Angeles' Neuehouse, Mid90s director and GQ Man of the Year Jonah Hill indicated that his next project is right up GQ's alley. "All I will say is my next endeavor is in clothing," our new style savior told moderator Zach Baron during the panel discussion with his Mid90s cast (including Olan Prenatt, Na-Kel Smith, Sunny Suljic, Gio Galicia, and Ryder McLaughlin). Baron had the group talking style throughout the night—like when Hill mentioned that his Mid90s press tour style cleanse—following his streetwear god ascension—was just Hill making his life easier: "it's nice to have a similar outfit on press tours so you always know what you're wearing and don't have to plan out, like, thousands of outfits."

And on the subject of grueling, months-long, multi-city press tours, Hill showed some love to Lady Gaga on the subject of her viral "there could be 100 people in a room" supercut from her A Star Is Born push. "When it was going around, I think it was from a place of mean intent," he told Baron. "But I thought to myself, damn, she really is an incredible actor. She's delivering those same talking points every night and making them sound new. That's acting."

The young skaters of the Mid90s cast spent much of the night praising Hill, noting the kernels of wisdom he'd imparted to them on set and sharing what it was like to work with the first-time director. "I wish I hadn't fought so hard about cutting my hair," Gio Galicia said with a grin, before Baron turned to Hill to ask if he saw his younger self in any of the film's cast. "[After we wrapped,] I wrote every director I ever worked with and was like, 'Sorry I was such a little prick,'" Hill joked in response.

GQ LIVE continues on Saturday night with TV legend Ryan Murphy and Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig. Check out the schedule and grab last-minute tickets here.
