Jon Gries Revealed What He Whispered to Aubrey Plaza That Caused That Awkward SAG Awards Moment

Aubrey Plaza was caught seemingly mouthing "Jesus Christ" (or "shit's fucked" depending on who you ask) and looking vaguely upset as the White Lotus cast hit the stage during the 2023 SAG Awards, and actor Jon Gries revealed what he said to her right before.

Speaking to Page Six, Jon explained that Aubrey was “being blocked by about 15 people,” so said “look to the front.” Apparently, he then added, “You might want to fix that first” in reference to her "underboob," which....no.

As for Aubrey's reaction, Jon says she was “just being funny," adding “I think what she was intimating is why would that be a problem if my nipple is showing. That’s her humor — She has that dry, dead-pan wit; that’s her biting wit.”

Jon also said that he texted Aubrey the next morning worried the exchange had turned into a “creepy moment,” and asked “You weren’t really upset?” to which she replied “No! Not at all!”

Aubrey has since posted a buncha photos with the cast—including her hugging Jon—so...seems like all is well!

Oh and before we go: Jon also shut down rumors that Aubrey was upset she didn't get to speak while the cast accepted their award, saying they'd decided ahead of time that F. Murray Abraham would take the microphone: “We wanted him to speak; we all wanted him to. He’s F. Murray Abraham! He’s a frigging legend."
