A Joker-themed motorcycle, one with a dog carrier turn heads at Myrtle Beach Bike Rally

Bikers of all kind, many riding customized motorcyclists, are filling up Murrells Inlet as the second weekend of the 85th Myrtle Beach Bike Rally revs up.

The annual rally brings in thousands of bikers to the Myrtle Beach area, with many of them hanging out at the motorcycle bars in Murrells Inlet, like Suck Bang Blow and the Beaver Bar. Bikers are able to get a drink, shop for T-shirts or motorcycle gear and show off their rides while admiring others.

Jason Sacks, of New Jersey, was riding his Joker themed motorcycle on Thursday night. It is bright green and purple with the Joker’s face painted on the side. Sacks said he’s “built it from the ground up.”

He said he works on motorcycles and built it himself. It cost around $90,000 to buy and build. His custom bike gets tons of looks and positive reactions, he said.

Personalizing a motorcycle is a task involving tons of time and money. The people riding these motorcycles say they love having a unique ride.

“It’s ours and it’s one of a kind,” said motorcyclist Lamar Winstead. Her and her husbands motorcycle has custom art that they used all over the bike. It’s been named Miss Chievous, as shown in the license plate and the name written across the front.

Sometimes modifications can be cheap and easy, like the one Larry Orner added to his motorcycle. It’s a soft dog crate so that his dog, Stryder, can join him on rides.
