As The Batman - Part II starts ramping into production, one actor is teasing his return.

Barry Keoghan, who plays Joker in 2022’s The Batman, recently responded to rumours he’ll be reprising his role.

Asked by ETalk if should expect to see him in the new film, Keoghan says: “I can't really say anything about it, but it would be exciting, wouldn't it? Seeing the Joker come to life again. My smile says it all, you know what I mean.”

So that’s a resounding ‘yes’.

We last saw Keoghan’s Joker at the end of The Batman, residing in an Arkham prison cell next to the recently incarcerated Riddler. It was an Easter egg more than anything.

A deleted scene, however, gave the character more screentime. Available on YouTube, we see Joker and Batman trade dialogue. It plants the seed for Joker’s return, much like how his playing card showed up at the end of 2005’s Batman Begins before he entered as fully fledged primary antagonist in 2008’s The Dark Knight.
