JoJo Siwa is set to make history with her Dancing With The Stars debut. The Nickelodeon star announced in a video via DWTS’s Twitter that she’d be dancing with a girl — the first time a same-sex couple will compete in the show’s 30 seasons.

The Dance Moms alum will be dancing with a female pro, and it was announced at a news conference Thursday, August 26, during the Television Critics Association press tour. JoJo said she's proud that her choice to dance with a female "breaks a wall that has never been broken down before" and tells younger people you can "dance with who you want to dance with."

In the past few months, the popular YouTuber has become an even bigger role model for young LGBTQ+ people. JoJo came out in January through a series of videos on TikTok and Instagram, where she emphasized how happy she now is.

The 18-year-old popstar, whose new movie “The J Team” premieres on Paramount+ September 3, joins Olympian medalist Suni Lee as the first two celebrities to join the DWTS cast.

Suni took home a gold medal in the all-around competition, a bronze medal for the uneven bars and a silver medal in the team competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She is also the first Hmong-American gymnast to compete for Team USA.

The remaining 13 celebrities and their respective partners will be announced on the Sept. 8 edition of ABC's Good Morning America. Season 30 of DWTS will premiere on September 20. This season's judges will be Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli and Derek Hough.
