JoJo Siwa is about to make history on the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars. The YouTube star will be competing on the show alongside a female partner, the first person to ever dance with a same-sex partner in DWTS' 30 seasons.

"I think it’s cool, I think it breaks a wall that’s never been done before," JoJo said to the Television Critics Association, according to AP. "I think it’s really special that I get to share with the world that you can love who you love, but now you can dance with who you want to dance with." She continued, saying, "It’s going to give so much to people out there, people of the LGBTQ community, everyone, people who feel just a little different. I want to make it OK for the people who come after me."

JoJo said that she already spoke with her girlfriend, Kylie Prew, about the situation. According to AP, JoJo told her that the relationship with her dance partner would remain platonic and Kylie had nothing to worry about.

"She was like, 'Love, you are going to be incredible,'" JoJo said of Kylie. "She has been nonstop supportive."

This is not the first time JoJo has taken a stand against the heteronormative media. Back in June, she spoke out about having a kissing scene with a boy cut from her upcoming movie, Bounce. "I'm madly in love and I do not want to kiss another human," JoJo told Entertainment Weekly about her decision. "Especially because it's a man."
