Johnson City Parks and Rec offering full day of free activities

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Next weekend, the whole family can enjoy a day at the park filled with activities free of charge.

Tayler Dixon with Johnson City Parks and Rec joined News Channel 11 to talk about Kids to Parks Day.

The event is part of a national effort to get kids out into their local parks.

Blue Plum Festival returns to downtown Johnson City in June

The department will be offering mountain biking, football, e-sports, disc golf, scavenger hunts and more – all for free.

Kids to Parks Day is happening May 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Johnson City’s Rotary and Civitan Parks.
