This Saturday, while attending the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, California, Johnny indicated to reporters that he thinks the end is near for the hit CBS sitcom, which is currently in the midst of season 11.

"The only manner in which the cast has discussed wrapping has been that we're all going to be very sad when that day comes," Johnny said, according to TVLine. "But I think at this point everyone's very comfortable with 12 seasons being the time to go home and see our families."

For months, rumors have been swirling that the show will end in May 2019. In 2017, the cast signed on for just two more seasons.

"We never really figured to be at year 11, let alone what's going to happen after 12," co-creator Chuck Lorre told The Hollywood Reporterlast summer. "One could easily presume that would be the end of the series but I'm just amazed we're here."

Of course, there's also the fact that the show is getting increasingly expensive to make. Each of the show's main cast members, including Jim Parsons and Kaley Cuoco, now make $1 million per episode.

Meanwhile, the sitcom's new spinoff, Young Sheldon, is just taking off, with CBS announcing on Saturday that the show has been renewed for a second season. According to Deadline, it's the number one new comedy in terms of viewers, and the number two comedy overall, after The Big Bang Theory.
