The next adventure in the John Wick franchise is going to be a rollercoaster. No, literally. Lionsgate has just unveiled a first look at the 'John Wick: Open Contract' ride it is building in its Motiongate theme park in Dubai, which was inspired by the world of assassins depicted in the wildly popular action movie series starring Keanu Reeves.

Visitors to the "immersive environment" will find themselves in a recreation of the iconic central setting, the Continental Hotel, which in the movies serves as a neutral space where various players in the criminal underworld can seek sanctuary. It was conceived in collaboration with the creative minds behind the movies' production design. Once there, fans will be given two choices: help John Wick, or join the assassins hunting him. The interactive experience they have will be completely different based on the decision they make at the start.

"I think what’s going to be amazing for fans is to have the opportunity to walk through the lobby of the Continental and experience different key moments in the settings that took place in the films," Jenefer Brown, head of live entertainment at Lionsgate, told Variety. "This attraction in particular is really about setting the story by putting people in this very immersive environment, and then you really get the action as you get on the coaster. It's 10 stories high, so there's definitely a level of intensity that’s befitting of the John Wick franchise that guests will experience."

"John Wick is definitely an intellectual property that we feel is perfect for location-based entertainment," said Brown. "Because the world is so rich and the characters are so intriguing. There's a lot of story that we can tell there in an experiential way." Lionsgate also shared plans for 'The High Roller', a ride based on the illusionist caper Now You See Me.

The 'Open Contract' experience is just one of several new branches in the ongoing John Wick story. The video game John Wick: Hex, which allows players to play as the titular assassin, functions as a prequel to the film's narrative. A fourth and fifth movie in the main saga are also currently in production, as is a female-centric spinoff, tentatively titled Ballerina, and a television series based on the Continental Hotel.
