John Travolta continues to mourn the death of his Grease costar and longtime close friend Olivia Newton-John.

Yesterday, on what would have been the actor’s 74th birthday, John shared a sweet birthday tribute to her on his Instagram Story.

“Happy birthday, my Olivia,” he wrote over a throwback photo of the two wearing their iconic skintight all-black looks on the set of Grease. In the 1978 cult classic, John played lead Danny Zuko, while Olivia played his female counterpart and love interest, Sandy Olsson.

The two remained close friends since the release of the movie and even reunited for a Grease sing-along in 2019. Olivia took to Instagram to share a behind-the-scenes photo of the two holding hands in their old Sandy and Danny wardrobes at the time.

“First time in costume since we made the movie! So excited!!” she wrote in the caption.

Sadly, Olivia died this past August after a decades-long battle with breast cancer. Her husband, John Easterling, confirmed the news via a message on her Facebook and Instagram pages. Upon learning of her passing, John shared a touching message on his Instagram, featuring a beautiful photo of the late actor.

“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!” he wrote at the time.
