John Travolta Shared a Rare Photo of His Son "Taking Over" for Him in a Cockpit

• John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston tend to be relatively private about their children, but the actor, 65, recently posted two snaps of his kids.

• One picture shows his son, Ben, 8, in the cockpit of a Qantas A380. The other features Ben and Travolta's daughter, Ella Bleu, 19, plus a friendly koala.

Though John Travolta, 65, is usually the one taking the yoke, he gave up his pilot's seat momentarily to let his 8-year-old son Benjamin sit in the cockpit of a Qantas A380. Travolta is an ambassador of the airline, which he's also trained with.

The former Greaser began flying in his teens and bought his first plane in his twenties, according the Qantas website. While he's shared snaps of himself in flight before, Travolta tends to keep his family private. Married to actress Kelly Preston, 57, since 1991, the two are also raising a daughter, Ella Bleu, 19, in addition to Benjamin. Their son, Jett, passed away in 2009 at the age of 16 after suffering a seizure.

While Travolta and their fellow showbiz mom may not be the ones propelling them into the spotlight, Ella Bleu is currently following in her parents' footsteps, so we may be seeing more of her on the big screen. She recently starred alongside her dad and Morgan Freeman in The Poison Rose.

As for Ben, “He’s into gymnastics, tennis, fishing and the computer world, like all the kids,” Travolta told People. And now, we can probably add aviation to his list of hobbies.

Ella described her dad as "the best mentor ever" when telling People about her experience working with him on the set of The Poison Rose, so we have no doubt that if Ben does decide he wants to learn how to fly and not just pose in the pit "for the gram," Travolta will be a great co-pilot. And perhaps they can even fly together to parts...down under.
