Travolta wished a happy birthday to "My Olivia."

The late Olivia Newton-John would have celebrated her 74th birthday on Sept. 26. Many celebrated and honored the actress on her would-be birthday, including her Grease co-star and longtime friend John Travolta.

The 68-year-old posted an image of the two from Grease on his Instagram Story, via PEOPLE, with the text, "Happy birthday my Olivia."

Travolta also made the Instagram Story a highlight on his profile, meaning it stays there permanently unless Travolta removes it.

Others also posted about her birthday, including daughter Chloe Lattanzi, who shared a video of her and a bunch of Newton-John's loved ones gathering together to celebrate the occasion.

After her death in August, Travolta posted a throwback photo of Newton-John, with a heartfelt message in the caption.

Travolta wrote: "My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much. We will see you down the road and we will all be together again."

He finished with a love-filled sendoff, saying, "Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!"

Newton-John passed away on Aug. 8 at the age of 73 from a long battle with breast cancer.

In 2017, after the singer and actress announced that her breast cancer had metastasized and spread to her bones, telling PEOPLE, "I’m winning over it well and that’s how I see it. I don’t think about it a lot, to be honest. Denial is a really good thing and I’m getting stronger and better all the time! I’m doing well!"

Travolta also commented on the news at the time, saying, "Olivia is a survivor and she’s smart and she’s got a lot of life in her and I think she looks at it from the glass half full always and that’s her beautiful, natural approach towards life and I think we all need to do that."

The two formed a strong bond from starring in Grease together, which only grew as the years went on.
