John Travolta Pays Tribute to Olivia Newton-John in Heartfelt Instagram Post

John Travolta recently posted a touching Instagram tribute for his former Grease co-star Olivia Newton-John following her death after a decades-long battle with breast cancer. Travolta posted a photo of Newton-John yesterday with heartfelt words, signing it “Your Danny, your John.”

“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better. Your impact was incredible. I love you so much,” Travolta wrote. “We will see you down the road and we will all be together again. Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever! Your Danny, your John!”

Many fans sent Travolta loving words following his post. “What beautiful beautiful words… until you see each other again 🙏🏻💓,” one person commented. “Thinking of John💔 There will only be one Sandy and Danny🕊🤍. You will always be together🕊,” another added. “The light that illuminated from the two of you when you were together was beautiful!,” another wrote.

Newton-John passed on Monday at 73 following her third cancer diagnosis. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, and received chemotherapy and a partial mastectomy. Then, after years of remission the cancer returned in 2017.

The famed actress and singer had been incredibly positive throughout her battle with cancer. In an interview with Gayle King on CBS This Morning, Newton-John explained that she didn’t let cancer statistics consume her. “The joy of life and everyday living has to be a part of that healing process as well,” she explained.

In addition to Travolta’s sweet tribute, many others posted in memory of the actress. Brooke Shields posted a photo of her and Newton-John, writing that she was “a true class act whose light shined everywhere she went… she inspired us all ❤️.” Kate Hudson posted a lip-sync video to Newton-John’s ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You,’ writing in the caption that she “inspired” and “shaped” her. “May we all today sing for Olivia and celebrate her courageous years of fighting. Love and Light 💫,” she continued.

The Grease actress’ death comes just over two years after the passing of Kelly Preston, Travolta’s late wife, who also died from breast cancer. One year after her passing, Travolta posted a sweet Mother’s Day tribute to Preston on Instagram, writing: “Dearest Kelly, you brought into my life three of the most wonderful children I have ever known. Thank you. We love and miss you. Happy Mother’s Day.”
