John Mayer’s Girlfriends Keep Getting Younger And Younger—Wait ‘Til You See The 22-Year-Old He Was Caught With!

John Mayer was just spotted with a much younger actress— Mad Men alum Kiernan Shipka— and their outing has caused quite the stir on Twitter and elsewhere from fans who are wondering if the two are dating or romantically involved. Mayer, 45, and Shipka, 22, were seen by paparazzi on what appeared to be a dinner date at the Giorgio Baldi restaurant last weekend in Santa Monica, California. The idea of the “Daughters” singer possibly dating Shipka caused lots of controversy on social media, with many of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star’s fans expressing their concerns regarding their notable age gap.

In the days since Mayer was seen with Shipka, many TikTok users have also shared lyrics to Taylor Swift‘s 2010 song “Dear John” and recent Midnights track “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve,” that have both been thought to be about Mayer’s habit of “preying on younger women,” as one fan wrote. The most common Swift lyric currently floating around is from the former song, “Don’t you think nineteen’s too young?” from when she, then aged 19, dated Mayer, who was 32 at the time…

Everything We Know About Mayer & Shipka’s Dinner Date

The Grammy winner and the Riverdale actress reportedly spent “around four hours hanging out,” according to Entertainment Weekly (EW), and were photographed seperately when entering the restaurant. The “Your Body Is A Wonderland” crooner went for a casual look, and wore a black jacket, gray sweatpants and white sneakers while Shipka donned a long black coat with a belt around her waist, black trousers underneath, and red pumps to complete her ensemble.

Once inside, eyewitnesses allegedly told EW that the two were seen smiling and laughing, and “Mayer is said to have serenaded Shipka after having a few drinks.” The outlet added that the two seemed “very much into each other during their time together.” Additionally, the two left the joint separately a few minutes apart from each other and entered two different vehicles.

EW adds that a few blocks away, “Shipka’s car and Mayer’s SUV pulled over before Shipka hopped out and jumped into his.” Mayer’s SUV, the publication notes, then “drove Shipka to her L.A. home.” While there is no confirmation of anything romantic, many Twitter, TikTok and social media users have criticized Mayer and questioned his intentions while others are stressing that the two are “probably friends.”

Other reports also note that this was not the first time Mayer and Shipka were spotted spending time together. There was an outing in February, EW reports, where “photographers snapped away as [Shipka] hugged Mayer at the famed Tower Bar inside the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.”

The “New Light” hitmaker has infamously dated Swift, Katy Perry, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson and more, while also garnering criticism for his dating habits and speaking negatively about the careers and appearances of his exes (notably Swift and Simpson) in recent years. Before his date with Shipka, Mayer was most recently rumored to have been hitting it off with 28-year-old Cazzie David, daughter of Larry David in 2021.

Shipka was previously linked to filmmaker Christian Coppola, though she hasn’t posted an Instagram photo with him since July 20th of this year, and it is unclear if they are still together.
