John Legend Performed a Free Christmas Concert in a Train Station — and There Will Be More Surprise Shows Across the U.S.

On Tuesday, SiriusXM gave the city of Los Angeles an early Christmas gift with a pop-up performance featuring John Legend.

In what can only be described as the most exciting thing to ever happen to the city’s public transportation system, SiriusXM set up the surprise performance with Legend (who was also recently named Sexiest Man Alive, NBD) inside Union Station. But perhaps the best part was the fact that the venue could only hold a few hundred people, making it a truly intimate evening with the crooner.

For Tuesday’s event, Legend not only showed off his Christmas caroling skills, belting out a few songs from his album, A Legendary Christmas, but also came on for an encore with arguably his most famous song, All of Me. He even filmed a music video live in front of the audience featuring an adorable children’s choir.

The night came together thanks to a new campaign by SiriusXM. The campaign, known as “Dial Up the Moment,” is a month-long experiential program with pop-up performances around the nation featuring some of today’s most popular musicians.

But here’s the catch: The events are meant to catch cities by surprise, and details are only released the day of the event.

What we can tell you about the next mini-concert is it will go down in Nashville soon, and it will feature one of the biggest stars in country music: Jason Aldean.

Pop-up concerts are put on often for SiriusXM subscribers, but the satellite radio giant is giving the public a sneak peek at the fun for a limited time. To stay up to date on the next few concerts, keep refreshing Moments.siriusxm.com. You never know who may swing by and sing in a city near you.
