John Goodman has The Conners fans in a tizzy after a recent interview in which he hinted at the show ending soon.

The actor, who has played the character of Dan Conner since the late 1980s, spoke about his career with France 24. When the topic turned to The Conners, the spinoff of Roseanne, Goodman said, “I think we may be coming to an end on it, I’m not sure."

“It’s lasted longer than I thought we would. It was just supposed to be like an eight [episode] show and out thing at one point, but they picked us up again, and they keep picking us up," he concluded.

The Conners started in 2018, the year after the reboot of Roseanne premiered.

After Roseanne Barr got involved in a controversy due to questionable comments online, the show's network, ABC, decided to continue the story with a new spinoff. The fan-favorite series The Conners has been going strong ever since, but Goodman seems to think it might be in the home stretch.

ABC has not commented on Goodman's statements from the France 24 interview, and TVLine reported that a network insider said that there has been no talk of ending The Conners after the upcoming sixth season.

The Conners just got the season six renewal from ABC in May, along with other hit shows like Abbott Elementary and The Good Doctor.
