Hold on to your Manolos, Sex and the City fans, because Aidan Shaw is reportedly making a comeback.

Actor John Corbett —who played former love interest of Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie Bradshaw–will be reprising his role on And Just Like That... for the show's second season, new reports reveal.

According to Deadline, Corbett, 61, is expected to appear for a "substantial, multi-episode arc" on the HBO reboot series, where he will return as the charming furniture maker who stole fans hearts in seasons 3 and 4 of Sex and the City.

Corbett's Aidan dated the show's leading lady on-and-off, after Carrie first cheated on him with her longtime love, Mr. Big (Chris Noth.) They eventually reconciled and got engaged, only for Carrie to call things off again.

Now, many are wondering if Aidan and Carrie will be able to finish what they started considering the death of Carrie's husband, Mr. Big in And Just Like That... Season 1.

However, the last time viewers saw Aidan, he was married with a wife and child, which he revealed to Carrie when they fatefully ran into each other in Abu Dhabi during the film Sex and the City 2.

Corbett previously led fans to believe he was going to appear in the first season of the reboot, after telling Page Six in April 2021, "I think I might be in quite a few [episodes]," although his character never showed up.

After the show's finale aired in February, Executive Producer Michael Patrick King revealed why Aidan never appeared after Carrie's husband died, telling Deadline, "It really just felt like this was a lot for Carrie. This season was a lot."

"We wanted to get her through [Big's death] and into the light—the last episode is called, ‘Seeing the Light.’ We wanted to get her out. [Aidan’s return] is a big storyline that everybody at home wrote that we had never intended."

Parker also addressed Corbett's comments, explaining, "It was fun for him to say that," while appearing on Watch What Happens Live in February. "When he actually reached out, very kindly, because he’s nothing if not a gentleman, and apologized for doing that as a joke, and then I was like, ‘No, no, no, it’s a free country first of all.’ And I thought it was kind of delightful and kind of fun.”

At the time, Parker hinted that a return from Corbett's character wasn't completely out the question for the next season, saying, "All of it's possible."

Fans will have to wait for Season 2 of And Just Like That... to drop on HBO Max to see if Carrie and Aidan will finally get to have their happy ever after.
