John Cena may be a pro at wrestling, but his recent attempt at playing baseball was completely bananas. Specifically, Savannah Bananas.

The longtime WWE Smackdown star donned a new uniform on February 10—a bright yellow  Savannah Bananas suit. The star joined the fun-loving baseball team for a little action at their exhibition game last Saturday afternoon in Tampa. It was a surprise even to the team, per this video from their social media:

Cena tells the packed locker room, "it's like walking into a human Power energy drink."

In another clip, shared by the baseball team on social media, the 16-time WWE world champion runs out of the Savannah Bananas’ dugout to take his turn at bat. Before being thrown a pitch, though, Cena is tossed his championship belt, which he hoists over his head to show the fans packing the stadium.

He then grabs the Nanners’ yellow-and-green bat and takes a stance that is so unique that the announcers feel compelled to explain that Cena hasn’t played baseball since he was 15 years old. After the first pitch is ruled a ball, Cena seemingly decides to lean into the goofy stance idea in the hopes of getting a walk to first base. Unfortunately, the Tampa Bay pitcher easily strikes out the star. Cena has no choice but to rush the pitcher’s mound. Instead of delivering one of his trademark wrestling finishing moves, though, Cena congratulates the pitcher for a job well done. That must be why he’s considered one of the wrestling world’s nice guys.

“A chance to be on @TheSavBananas for a day sounded appealing, but these guys kick some serious potassium!!!” Cena shared on social media after the game. “Grateful for an incredible and unforgettable experience!”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like this baseball thing will work out for Cena. Thank goodness he has two very successful careers to fall back on.
