John Boyega, who starred as Finn in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, has finally ranked his favourites. Appearing on Hot Ones' Truth or Dab: Rapid Fire (filmed before the SAG-AFTRA strike, it should be said), he was asked to put the sequel trilogy in order of preference. Here’s his list:

  • 2 Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

  • 3 Star Wars: The Last Jedi

It’s far from controversial, Boyega’s thoughts largely echoing the consensus both commercially and critically. Most would agree the sequel trilogy started with a bang, but got worse as it continued. The Force Awakens netted $2.068 billion at the worldwide box office 2015, The Rise of Skywalker $1.333 billion in 2017, and The Last Jedi $1.074 billion in 2019.

That’s not to say a future role as Finn is off the table for Boyega. There are rumors he’s been cast in an upcoming film set 15 years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker that focuses on Rey Skywalker (Daisy Ridley) rebuilding the Jedi order.

In other Star Wars news, Lucasfilm is also working on Star Wars Series The Acolyte, which is set 100 years before Phantom Menace.
