New information has come to light in the ongoing situation surrounding John Amos and concerns over his health and well-being.

The actor's daughter, Shannon Amos, previously made headlines after claiming her 83-year-old father had been a victim of elder abuse, which the actor later denied through his rep. John also claimed to be doing just fine in a new video posted to his son Kelly "K.C"  Amos' Instagram account, where he insisted he was in good hands with his son at a hospital.

But in the latest development, K.C. has been "successfully removed as John’s medical power of attorney and no longer has the authority to make medical decisions for his father who is now recovering under the care of other family members," a representative for Shannon told Parade directly.

Shannon—who has maintained that she is "unwavering" in her mission to help her dad—has also served a cease and desist to K.C. to demand "that he stop making false statements on public platforms which have caused defamation to her reputation and harm to her business," the rep added.

“My priority has always been the safety, stability, and well-being of my father,” read Shannon's statement to Parade on Friday, June 23. “Removing Mr. Kelly K.C. Amos as medical power of attorney is an important step in the healing of my father and family."

"While I had hoped that this family matter could remain private, recent allegations accusing me of elder abuse and other false statements have forced me to take legal action," she continued. "My family and I continue to be united in the recovery of my father and I hope this matter will be resolved soon through the proper authorities."

Shannon's representative confirmed that an active investigation is "currently underway" by the Colorado Bureau of Investigations (CBI), Adult Protective Services, and Custer County Sheriff’s Department regarding the claims of elder abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation.

Shannon's rep emphasized that her client never named K.C. as a suspect.
