Joey King Was a Mini Gwendoline Christie on the Golden Globes Red Carpet

Looks like Joey King is taking a page out of Gwendoline Christie’s stylebook.

The 20-year-old actress stepped out for tonight’s 77th annual Golden Globes at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles in a gorgeous Iris Van Herpen illusion gown. She paired the look with white pointed pumps.

And as soon as The Act actress stepped onto the carpet, we immediately got flashbacks to a few looks worn by Gwendoline Christie. The Game of Thrones star has worn two gowns by the Dutch designer in the past year—first at the GoT New York City premiere and then again at the European premiere of her movie The Personal History of David Copperfield in London.

We’re not surprised the design came from van Herpen since she’s known for creating futuristic ensembles. In fact, she was one of the first designers to master the art of combining fashion with 3D printing.

King is nominated this year for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role as Gypsy Rose Blanchard in The Act. Other nominees included Kaitlyn Dever for Unbelievable, Helen Mirren for Catherine the Great, Michelle Williams for Fosse/Verdon and Merritt Wever for Unbelievable.

Joey and Gwendoline: the fashion duo we didn’t know we needed.
