Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner Were All About Asymmetrical Jackets on the Red Carpet

Perfect fashion couple Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas couldn't have been dressed less alike on the red carpet for the Academy Museum Of Motion Pictures Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday night. And yet there was definitely a theme to their outfits — patterns, asymmetry, and complicated details.

Turner wore a long Louis Vuitton suede blazer in brown and tan that ended mid-thigh, featuring quilted cream lapels. It met the hem of her black leather mini-skirt, which appeared to be adorned with a chain and topped with a v-neck black top. She wore the skirt with black stockings covered in a lace floral pattern, and tall black heels. The Game of Thrones actress had a burgundy manicure and wore a pair of small gold hoop earrings.

Jonas was mixing and matching as much as Turner, but with a darker color palette. The pop star wore a cropped black leather jacket also by Louis Vuitton, covered in illustrated details. One drawing of a buckle went from his shoulder and merged into the other half of the illustration down the thigh of his matching pants. He appeared to be shirtless under the jacket and wore a silver chain around his neck, a bracelet, and his wedding ring.

As a couple, they created an exciting visual picture with their edgy outfit choices.

This was the second time the Academy Museum held a gala since opening, and this year Julia Roberts received the first-ever Icon Award, according to Deadline. Also honored at the event were director Steve McQueen, Miky Lee, and Tilda Swinton.

Jonas and Turner welcomed their second daughter in July, and have not been seen out much in recent months as they adjust to their expanded family. Their two-year-old Willa was also born in July, back in 2020.

“It's what life is about for me – raising the next generation,” Turner told Elle UK in May, which marked her third wedding anniversary with Jonas. “The greatest thing in life is seeing my daughter go from strength to strength. We're so excited to be expanding the family. It's the best blessing ever.”
