  • Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner will star in a remake of the 1987 movie The Princess Bride.

  • The first chapter of the movie is set to air today on Quibi.

In news you didn't expect to hear, a parody of the movie The Princess Bride premieres today on the movie streaming service Quibi. Some of your favorite celebs will be starring in the film and the lead roles will be filled by power couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner.

Vanity Fair reports the duo will take on a gender swapped version of the movie's main characters, so Sophie will be playing Westley with Joe playing Princess Buttercup. Plus, the movie will be filled with a bunch of other celebs like Hugh Jackman, Elijah Wood, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key and more.

Since so many of us are still in quarantine, the parody will be put together through videos that each cast member records themselves. Each of the recordings will be put together to create the final product. Starting today, Quibi will release the movie one chapter a day, every day for the next two weeks. Quibi is also making a $1 million donation to World Central Kitchen, which helps provide meals to the needy.

VF reports that filmmaker Jason Reitman came up with the idea. "I just thought, Can we remake an entire movie at home? And I had seen that a fan-made Star Wars had been done," Reitman told Vanity Fair. "I just started reaching out to actors I knew, saying, 'Is this something you’d want to do?' And the response was kind of immediate and fast. It was like, 'Oh—that sounds like fun.'"

The original Princess Bride was released in 1987 and brings to life the storybook a grandfather reads to his grandson. The movie gets its name from this book and follows the story of a farmhand named Westley. He journeys to save the love of his life Princess Buttercup and makes some great friends along the way.

If you don't already have a Quibi subscription, the service offers a two week free trial and the plans after that start at $4.99.
