Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner’s Dog Was Killed in “Freak Accident”

After celebrating their wedding and romantic honeymoon, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are now mourning the loss of their dog, an Alaskan Klee Kai named Waldo. Waldo was reportedly hit by a car in New York City on Wednesday night by a driver who then fled the scene. According to TMZ, a dog walker had taken Waldo out when he managed to break free from his leash and run into the road. A representative for Jonas called it “a freak accident.”

E! News spoke to the NYPD, which confirmed that a woman, presumably Turner, had filed a police report on Friday and that Waldo was taken to a hospital where he died. According to TMZ the couple delayed filing the report because they were so emotional over the loss, having to go to a therapist after the accident.

Jonas and Turner got Waldo during the spring of 2018, with Turner posting a photo of him with their other Alaskan Klee Kai, Porky, to her Instagram in April captioning the photo: “Welcome to the family @waldopicassojonas.” Both dogs were from the same litter and the couple used Porky’s Instagram account to welcome the new addition as well, writing, “I’d like to make an announcement. Me, my parents and I have adopted my actual brother from the same litter. Please welcome my little brother @waldopicassojonas.”

So far, neither Turner or Jonas have commented on the death of Waldo.
