Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's split has become even more tense due to the former couple not agreeing on where their divorce proceedings should take place. According to Page Six, Joe wants the divorce to be heard in the United States, while Sophie wants it to be heard in England. However, apparently Joe has an "advantage" when it comes to his wish to keep the case in the U.S. due to the fact that he filed for divorce first.

Sounds like a lot, and things are even more complicated thanks to a hearing in Miami on Wednesday about "parenting." Page Six says this hearing ended with the court opting out of making a decision until Sophie's New York lawsuit had been figured out (she filed legal docs claiming that Joe was illegally keeping their children in NYC).

Meanwhile, a source also recently told Us Weekly that Joe “is hoping they can come to an amicable agreement,” but that Sophie is “dead-set on moving to the UK full-time,” while another insider noted that “They’re both laying down these aggressive legal markers, but eventually a compromise will have to be made.”

As a reminder, Joe filed for divorce back on September 5, and a few days later he and Sophie released a joint statement, saying in part "After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children."
