Joe Jonas Had to Binge This Film Series Before Marrying Sophie Turner
Joe Jonas gave fans a peek into his dating life with his now-wife Sophie Turner. During a virtual appearance with James Corden, Jonas explained that while the two were dating, Turner had an ultimatum: if they were going to get serious, Jonas had to watch all of the Harry Potter movies. That's eight films that span 19 hours and 40 minutes. Naturally, Jonas had a retort: if he was going to sit down for all of that, he wanted Turner to take in all of Lord of the Rings.
"Sophie, she said, 'Look, if we're going to get married...' It was actually, 'If you’re going to date me, you have to watch the Harry Potter movies," Jonas explained to Corden. "I was like, 'My rule is you have to watch Lord of the Rings.'"

Glamour notes that it's hard to believe that Jonas had somehow managed to not see the entire Harry Potter series until now, but let's remember that he was doing things like touring the world, starring in Disney Channel movies and series, and being a Jonas Brother.
Jonas added that he and Turner have spent their quarantine time watching Lord of the Rings, so it looks like they never got around to watching their mandated fantasy flicks before they got married last May.
"We’ve been binge-watching Lord of the Rings during this time and building the Legos that go with the movies, which is quite fun," Jonas told Corden, adding one more layer of nerdiness to the entire situation. Legos and Legolas? A night at the Jonases seems pretty low-key.

"I'm an introvert, I'm a homebody. If I could stay at home all day I would, so this is great for me," she said. "I leave my house like once a day to walk my dogs, and then that's it."
