Joe Jonas Files for Divorce From Sophie Turner After 4 Years of Marriage

Joe Jonas has officially filed for divorce from Sophie Turner.
According to online records, the 34-year-old singer filed for divorce from his wife on Tuesday, Sept. 5, in Miami Dade County, Florida.
Per the court documents obtained by Today, the middle Jonas Brother claims, "The marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken." No other information regarding the reason for their split was immediately available.
It's said that the two had a prenuptial agreement and Jonas also asked for "shared parental responsibility" with Turner, 27, and said a "parenting plan should be established" for their two daughters.
The filing also explained that the children have been residing with Jonas in Miami and other locations throughout the country, but that "it is in the best interests of the minor children that the parties have shared parental responsibility."
The two began dating in 2016 and said "I do" three years later, tying the knot in a surprise ceremony in Las Vegas in 2019. During their four-year-long marriage, Jonas and Turner welcomed two daughters. The couple's eldest, born in 2020, is named Willa. The pair have yet to publicly share the name of their youngest, who was born last July.
The confirmation of their breakup comes about two days after rumors of the former couple's impending divorce began picking up steam on social media.
Over Labor Day Weekend, TMZ initially reported that according to "sources with direct knowledge," the couple was headed toward divorce. Hours later, People published a piece alleging that Jonas was the one to retain a lawyer. The magazine also reported that Turner's rep declined to comment.
Ironically, as summer 2023 comes to a close, many celebrity relationships have also unfortunately come to an end. In addition to this newly confirmed and devastating Jonas-Turner divorce, other famous faces that have split from their equally prominent partners include Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn, Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner, as well as Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello, just to name a few.
