Joe Freshgoods Drops Exclusive New Balance 650 "STUNTMAN"

Joe Freshgoods and New Balance have been longtime collaborators and now the Boston-based sneaker brand is helping the Chicago creative with a special drop of the New Balance 650 "Stuntman."

The 650s were first unveiled within Freshgoods' "Across Town" capsule, which celebrated the Cubs and White Sox in the form of shorts for Mitchell & Ness and 5950 fitted hats created by New Era. Imagining a world where Michael Jordan is a New Balance athlete, the retro-themed sneakers take inspiration from the fellow Chicago native, paying homage to his appearance in a 1984 LIFE magazine ad, where he is wearing none other than New Balances. The mostly neutral shoe boasts a high-top silhouette, featuring gray detailing around the collar, logo and outsole. The shade also touches slightly shaggy suede heel panels as well as the lower heel molds. Joe Freshgoods' puts his stamp on the shoe, substituting the typical "650" numbering on the forefoot and tongue banners for his insignia.

Limited to 500 hand-numbered pairs, Joe Freshgoods x New Balance's 650 "STUNTMAN" will be released on September 9. Take a closer look in the gallery above and on JFG's Instagram below.
