Joe Biden’s Birth Chart Explains Why He Plays the Long Game

From Cosmopolitan

So as of today, former Vice President Joe Biden is officially the last one standing out of—count ’em—29 (!!!) major Democratic presidential candidates in 2020. JSYK, this is Biden’s third time running for president, following campaigns in 1988 and 2008.

Everyone knows that politicians can be shady. They’re experts at dodging questions, twisting data, and…um…withholding the exact time and location of their birth. As an astrologer, I kinda need these things to do *my* job. 😅 So you can imagine the relief I felt when I discovered that Joe Biden’s birth info is readily available! The former vice president was born at 8:30 a.m. on November 20, 1942. With this information, I calculated his birth chart (aka a snapshot of the sky when he was born), and let me tell you, it is magical AF!

Now, without further ado, let’s take a closer look at this presidential hopeful from an astrological perspective.

SCORPIO SUN

When someone asks, “What’s your sign?” they’re usually asking about the position of the Sun at your exact moment of birth (or they’re trying to hit on you). Although the Sun is only one of the many celestial bodies tracked in astrology, it plays a very major role in our cosmic profile. Your Sun sign sheds light on your ego, identity, and sense of self. It reveals the way people receive your ~energy~.

Biden was born when the Sun was positioned in the sign of Scorpio. If you’re not familiar with this sign, allow me to introduce you to a few keywords: Mysterious. Secretive. Enterprising. Seductive. That’s right, friends: Scorpio energy is the embodiment of a sexy film noir, so it’s not surprising that everyone swooned over those pictures of young Joe Biden. Did you forget that oddly erotic video montage of Joey B. enjoying ice cream? Because we sure didn’t.

But from a political perspective, Mr. Biden’s Scorpio Sun means he’s all about the sneak attack. Scorpios are shadow dwellers who have no problem playing the long game. They wait patiently for the perfect time to strike. So when Joe laid low as Democrats slowly dropped out of the race, that was probably all part of his plan. There’s no such thing as accidents when it comes to this water sign.

TAURUS MOON

In astrology, the Moon is connected to emotions. The Moon moves in a 28-day cycle, mirroring the wax and wane of our own sensitivities. The climax of this cycle is defined by the Full Moon, when the Sun and Moon meet at opposite points in the sky. As the Full Moon shines at maximum illumination—exposing all that exists within the darkness—important information is revealed.

With a Moon in Taurus (the opposite sign of Scorpio), Mr. Biden was born during this lunation. Full Moons are dramatic (the Moon really *shows up*), so those born under this sky often have big personalities. President Donald Trump was also born under a Full Moon (he’s a Gemini Sun with Sagittarius Moon), so should these two go neck and neck in the 2020 general election, it will truly be...lunacy.

SAGITTARIUS RISING

Your Rising sign (also known as the Ascendant) is the zodiac sign that was emerging on the eastern horizon at your moment of birth. In your birth chart, it symbolizes your perception of reality—the way you see the world. And because we have Joe Biden’s birth time (still not over it!), we can confirm that the former vice president is a Sagittarius Rising.

Joe’s Sagittarius Rising totally checks out: Sagittarius is known to be bold, adventurous, and very outspoken. Sagittarius Risings are natural storytellers, so those with this placement can be quite charismatic. In fact, this placement offsets Joe’s Scorpio Sun perfectly: While Scorpio values private, Sagittarius overshares. You see, kids—it’s all about finding balance!

And now, an astrological prediction for Biden:

This June, a new eclipse series begins on the Gemini-Sagittarius axis. This is major for Joe Biden: Not only is he a Sagittarius Rising, but he also has Saturn (the planet of authority) and Uranus (the planet of innovation) both in Gemini. Eclipses haven’t occurred on the Gemini-Sagittarius axis since 2012, which was the year Obama and Biden won their second term. So be sure to keep a close eye on Biden as these eclipses begin to roll in: I predict events on or around May 22 will be very revealing.
