Since re-opening to the public in June with added safety measures, Magnolia Market at the Silos has looked a bit different. Yet despite all the recent changes, there’s one tradition that the market can’t scrape: the seasonal display.

Each season, Magnolia Journal adopts a theme which is then echoed throughout the entire Magnolia empire. In fact, the market's flagship store models their displays after each theme. In a video on the Magnolia Instagram account on Thursday, Joanna Gaines reveals this year’s theme: rhythm.

"There are so many disruptions that have happened this year with our natural rhythms and daily lives," she says, making this season's theme one that hits close to home. She asks fans to take a step back and really and ask themselves “What are the rhythms that we need to hold onto?” as well as “what are the rhythms that we kinda need to let go of so we can move forward?”

To illustrate the concept of rhythm in-store, the Magnolia display team worked with yarns and fabrics. Over 100 custom-colored yarn cones along with a woven sign that reads "Embrace the Rhythm of the Season" make up the market’s front display wall. Each yarn cone was hand-dyed and then wound using a special device. The woven sign was made using an American loom. As Gaines notes, just the methodical process of weaving on a look is a rhythm in itself.

Throughout the store, guests will also notice several hand-woven lamps hanging from the ceiling. Many of these lamps contain asymmetrical shapes and patterns made from yarn that were woven into the fabric. Gaines explains that these lamps were decorated like this to show how rhythm can be disrupted at times, yet still be so beautiful.

"I really hope that when people step inside they feel the love and attention that went into these handmade displays," she says, noting that she had an idea in her head and after discussing it with her team, each member sunk into his or her own rhythms to make it happen.

Shoppers can view the seasonal display in person at Magnolia Market. Can’t make it? You can still shop Magnolia's new fall collection which is also currently displayed in store.
