Joan Collins is paying tribute to her late co-star and former boyfriend, David McCallum.

The beloved NCIS star died at the age of 90 on Monday Sept. 25, prompting an outpouring of celebrities and other members in the industry to speak out in honor of McCallum's memory.

For her part, Collins shared a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, where she affectionately looked back on the actor as being her "first boyfriend."

"So sad that #davidmccallum - my first boyfriend at #rada - has died," Collins, 90, wrote in her caption, referring to their time together at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England.

Collins went on to call McCallum, "A fine #actor a great #talent and a true #gentleman," while sharing a throwback photo of the pair together on the set of The Man from U.N.C.L.E.

"Loved working with him on #manfromuncle," she added, while including the hashtags, "#rip" and "#ripdavidmccallum."

"He was an excellent actor," one of Collins' fans wrote in the comments, while telling the Dynasty actress, "Sorry for your loss. You will have good memories ❤️."

"Good choice of first boyfriend," another commenter added. "David McCallum was a fine Actor."

In addition to the TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E., McCallum was known for appearances in Sapphire and Steel, The Great Escape, A Night to Remember and several more projects. He was also the last remaining original cast member on NCIS, playing Chief Medical Examiner Donald "Ducky" Mallard since 2003.

“For over 20 years, David McCallum endeared himself to audiences around the world playing the wise, quirky, and sometimes enigmatic, Dr. Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard,” said NCIS executive producers Steven D. Binder and David North. "But as much as his fans may have loved him, those who worked side by side with David loved him that much more. He was a scholar and a gentleman, always gracious, a consummate professional, and never one to pass up a joke."

"From day one, it was an honor to work with him and he never let us down," their statement continued. "He was, quite simply, a legend. He was also family and will be deeply missed.”

McCallum is survived by his wife of 56 years, Katherine McCallum, as well as his sons Paul, Valentine and Peter, his daughter Sophie and eight grandchildren.
